In addition to the main display, it was suggested that LG will be using a dual display feature for the G5, much like how it did with the new LG V10.
February 21 is actually the day before MWC 2016 officially kicks off. Both LG and Samsung have likely opted to reveal their next Android flagships ahead of the conference's opening day to keep the media and consumers focused more on their devices.
The upcoming flagship smartphone from LG is also expected to have a removable battery.
(LG)The LG G5 will be coming out on February 21, and for its launch LG has sent out invites for the event, as pictured. Soon after introducing the smartphone to the world, the G5 will be rolled out in the market for purchase within a week. Several reports have suggested that this will include a unique modular design that provides and accessory slot on the bottom of the device, which will probably be used for battery access.
The LG G4 (pictured above alongside the Beat) was one of the company's more complete smartphones for quite some time, boasting a classic aesthetic, quick hardware and even better camera, but what of the LG G5? It will also have the Snapdragon 820 processor, and 4 GB RAM. The Snapdragon 820 characterizes Qualcomm returning a custom ARM architecture and a power efficient quad-core layout.
The company has been suffering from lackluster earnings at home and overseas as Samsung Electronics weighed down on its domestic sales while Chinese firms also ate into LG's market share in the global market.
Moreover, the main camera of the G5 is believed to feature an Iris Eye Recognition scanner for enhanced security of the handset.
