Microsoft Surface Phone vs iPhone 7: Which will prove to be the 'breakthrough' smartphone?

San Francisco: 2015 was not a great year for the smartphone industry, but with the much- anticipated release of Microsoft's Surface Phone and Apple's iPhone 7, this year could be completely different.

The Surface Phone will be a flagship smartphone that has an industrial design similar to Surface Pro 4 and Surface Book. Intel has allegedly been involved with this smartphone project.

The Surface Phone is expected to run a full desktop OS - Windows 10. The device will not have the processor speed of Surface Pro 4 or a high-end tablet, but the fact that you could actually use desktop software on a smartphone is certainly new to the industry.

On the other hand, the iPhone 7 likely won't run a desktop operating system like OS X, but it's not designed to. It seems that there will be major changes in the design. The first real photo of the iPhone 7 Plus has made its presence on Mac Rumors. The website talked about the iPhone 7 Plus' camera.

The dual-lens camera is accompanied by an LED flash and microphone, as seen on previous iPhones, while the antenna bands have been relocated to the bottom and top edges of the smartphone.

There are also 3 small dots on the bottom of the smartphone that are likely in place for a Smart Connector, which is a new interface introduced by the iPad Pro.
