Motorola Moto G4 and Moto G4 Plus: Specifications, features and release date rumors

Motorola is expected to launch Motorola Moto G4 and Moto G4 Plus on June 9. At the recently held event in China, Yang Yuanqing, Lenovo's CEO revealed that Motorola will release a new device on June 9 but declined to reveal the model name, specifications, and features. He only said that the new devices will nothing less than exciting.

Even though Yang refused to reveal any details about the upcoming launch event on June 9, there are leaks and rumors about the Motorola Moto G4 and its big brother Moto G4 Plus. However, we only have information that none of the devices will launch until June.

With so many leaks floating on the web about the upcoming Moto G4 and Moto G4 Plus, we expect the next generation of the Moto G smartphones will be announced on June 9 since we don't have leaks about other devices at this moment of time.

The new video claimed to be that of Moto G4 Plus recently surfaced on a popular Chinese tech portal, which looks similar to that of the previous leaks. Interestingly, the fingerprint sensor is not visible on the newly leaked smartphone, although tech enthusiasts believe that the recent leak could be a prototype of the device released during early stages when the fingerprint sensor was not actually added.

While Motorola Moto G4 is expected to be equipped with a 5.5-inch display, 13MP camera and 16GB of expandable internal storage, the Moto G4 Plus will feature the same display and storage option as G4 expect the fact that the Plus variant is supposed to include a higher capacity main camera sensor, most probably a 16MP. Meanwhile, the Moto G4 Plus will also bear a minimum of 12MP front-facing shooter camera.

Going by the specs, we assume that Moto G4 Plus will pack special features oriented for photography lovers including fingerprint sensor integration on the front below the display with quick unlocking capabilities.

Lenovo, at the recently concluded CES, had announced a partnership with Google and showcased a mysterious new Project Tango project based device with an augmented reality interactive 3D scene scanner. We have to wait and watch whether this feature will be incorporated in the upcoming Moto G4.
