Google Pixel Phone Release Date Breakdown: The Nexus 2016?

The phone has been created to use the company's powerful new assistant (their version of Siri), aptly named Assistant. The iPhone 7 is powered by an A10 Fusion 64-bit quad-core chipset paired with M10 motion co-processor and 2GB of RAM. Would you pay out over $700 for a Google Pixel XL? Google states that Android 7.1 will first be made available as a Developer Preview, which will roll out no later than the end of Q4. One will have a five-inch screen (larger than the standard iPhone7), while the other will have a 5.5-inch screen (the same same size as the iPhone 7 Plus). To say iPhone vs Pixel doesn't sound epic like Superman vs. Batman does.

Pricing for the Pixel and Pixel XL starts at $649.99 and $769.99, respectively, if you choose the 32GB version. Pre-orders in India will begin October 13. The VR headset will come with a companion motion controller, a feature missing from other conventional VR headsets till date.

Also worth mentioning is the lack of security features discussed at the Made By Google event at the Pixel launch. That is a $79 value, and essentially matches Samsung's free Gear VR deal with the Galaxy S7. From a premium all-metal design, the latest and greatest hardware and more. In the United States, it will be available at Verizon or Google's website. It cost $129 and is due out next month.

Google announced the next iteration of its media streamer Chromecast, dubbed as the Chromecast Ultra. Chromecast Ultra finally brings 4K support to the Chromecast. The Amazon Fire comes at a hefty price of $100, while the Chromecast Ultra is priced at a mere $69. Sharp has also unveiled a "Home Assistant" gadget at a technology show in Japan, reports "Wall Street Journal".

The very appeal of an iPhone is its ubiquity and familiarity, with new software arriving across the entire platform at once and new hardware adding faster or better versions of what came before. This is so because the carrier has seemingly confirmed that while Google will be exclusively responsible for software updates on its Google Store variants, Verizon Wireless will be responsible for the units that it sells.
