KFC release limited edition smartphone, fried chicken lovers rejoice

Technology and fried chicken together ... finally.

IF you a big fan of the Colonel and want a phone that's finger lickin' good, you are going to love KFC's latest product.

The fast food giant has announced it's releasing a KFC smartphone to commemorate 30 years of operation in China.

Through a partnership with leading Chinese smartphone manufacturer Huawei, the fried chicken establishment has been able make the move into the tech world.

The KFC edition Huawei Enjoy 7 Plus has a 5.5-inch display, 3,020mAh battery, a fingerprint scanner and 12MP camera.

It's powered by a Snapdragon 425 processor, has 3GB of RAM and offers 32GB of storage that can be expanded up to 128GB with a microSD card.

It really is a work of art. Picture: Yum ChinaSource:Supplied

These might be impressive specs, but the hero of the device is the embossed picture of Colonel Sanders on the back of the aptly coloured red device.

Google's translation of the announcement, which was made on Chinese social media site Weibo, might leave a little to the imagination, but you get the idea.

"Kentucky China 30 years from 1987 to 2017, 30 years accompanied by the taste of the times, suck refers to the aftertaste! Kentucky together with Huawei joint co-operation, the introduction of Huawei Chang enjoy 7 Kentucky commemorative version of gorgeous struck," the post reads.

"Commemorative Edition laser back carving, pre-installed Kentucky Super APP, with WOW member 10 thousand K gold, but also the first to experience k-music song function. Limited to 5000 will soon be on sale, waiting for you to grab."

The "10 thousand K gold" refers to a digital currency used by KFC in China and the "k-music" is a pre-installed app that lets users create playlists and share them in the restaurant.

With only 5000 units being made, you will have to be quick to snap up this iconic phone — you are probably going to have to go to China too.
