"Madoka Magica" Smartphone Game Locked in for August Release

Fans in Japan waiting to become meguca won't have to wait much longer. Magia Record, the Madoka Magica tie-in game, has received an official release date of August 22.

The game was originally supposed to come out in May, but further tweaking and programming were required before it would be considered fit for release. It was originally delayed until this month. Aniplex has confirmed the new release date on the game's official news page.

Magia Record introduces several new magical girls, including Iroha, who is on the hunt for her sister Ui. Her search coincides with Madoka's search for Homura in Kamihama. The game will feature new animation, full voice acting, and a new song from TrySail.

There is no word yet on whether Aniplex will make a localized version available for Western players.
