Nextbit Robin Release Date & Specs: Now Available For Pre-order, Features Unlimited Storage

Those who have been watching out for the Nextbit Robin will be able to get their hands on the smartphone soon as reports say that it is now available for pre-order. According to The Verge, interested buyers can buy Nexbit's handset via their Kickstarter page for a starting price of $399. Its date of shipping is expected to take place on February. Those from India can also pre-order it with an additional fee of $70.

The Nextbit Robin, which is designed to be a "cloud-first" smartphone, boasts to its consumers an unlimited storage on the phone with the help of cloud connectivity. It's basically the smartphone's feature highlight. Tech Times detailed that any app or photo that has not been used for some time by the user will instantly go straight to cloud to be stored. Just as long the handset is connected to a local WiFi network, the automatic cloud storing will take place.

The handset also carries a 32GB storage capacity which will be used if ever the cloud storage capacity reaches up to 100GB. Aside from that, this feature also organizes data. The phone will get space by putting some unused apps and media on cloud-storage space which can be accessed anytime.

The Nextbit Robin also comes with a 5.2-inch 1080 display, a 3GB of RAM, a USB Type-C charging port and a built-in fingerprint reader, reports Techno Buffalo. It is powered with a Snapdragon 808 processor and is said to be shipped with Android 6.0 Marshmallow out-of-the-box. On the front is a 5MP secondary camera while the back boasts a 13MP primary camera. Its design is described to be sleek and modern and buyers can choose from either mint (green) or midnight (black).

According to Tech 2, Nextbit, which is composed of former employees by HTC, Google and Apple, first launched Robin via Kickstarter which successfully raised more than $1.3 million. It also gained $101,000 on Backerkit. Reports say that the smartphone was initially sold for $299.
