HTC Unveils The New HTC 10

Today was a big day in the Android and smartphone calendar as HTC took to the stage and unveiled their latest flagship handset, the HTC 10.

HTC 10 will runs on Android 6 Marshmallow out of the box.

The support for AirPlay is official which means that whenever Apple updates the wireless streaming standard, the HTC 10 will also get it.

The leaked video also showcases the chamfered edges of the device, the camera setup on the back (with a slightly prominent bump), and an oval-shaped home button. It did, however, invite fans to tune into HTC.com tomorrow to "see what we're obsessed about", and will hold press conferences in New York, London, and Taipei.

HTC went off the right track, but now it's going back to the glory days of the HTC One.

In announcing the new HTC 10 handset, HTC said that customers can, with effect from Tuesday, April 12, place pre-orders for an unlocked version of the HTC 10 via the company's online store.

On the photography front, it features a 12-Ultrapixel 2 camera with f/1.8 aperture, optical image stabilization, laser autofocus, and 4K video recording capabilities. The phone is powered by the quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 SoC, and it ships with 4GB of RAM.

On the camera side of things, the HTC 10 is expected to feature a 12MP camera. With Quick Charge 3.0, HTC claims you can achieve a 50 per cent charge in 30 minutes. The report also says that BoomSound has been reworked in the new HTC 10, with "HTC BoomSound HiFi edition" featuring Dolby audio technology replacing last year's BoomSound setup.

With the release of HTC 10, it is set to join competitors Samsung and LG in the market of 5-inch smartphones. It is also compact with a 3000 mAh battery for better battery life. There is no word about its pricing and availability.
