Microsoft Surface Phone release delayed again, phone to launch in 2017?

The rumors related to release date of Microsoft Surface Phone have been dominating the Internet for the past few months.

The huge success of the Surface Pro and the Surface Book may have prompted Microsoft to think of launching a Surface smartphone, loaded with advanced features.

Several reports claim that the Redmond-based firm has been working on the Surface Phone and the new smartphone may release in October.

But the latest news about the Surface Phone is not exciting as it is learned that the company has once again delayed the release of this much-awaited smartphone.

WindowsCentral reported that Microsoft is working on Surface Phone but the device will not be launched this year and it is likely that new handset would be unveiled in the first half of the next year.

The reports of delayed release is definitely going to disappoint many tech enthusiasts but the same report mentions that there is a possibility that there could be three models of the Surface Phone releasing in 2017. It says there could be a Consumer, Business and a Prosumer/Enthusiast version of the Surface Phone when it releases next year.

Forbes said that Microsoft may have delayed the release in order to launch the Surface Phone closer together with the Surface Pro 5 and the Surface Book 2, both of which may be launched in the latter part of 2016.
