Meizu Pro 6 release date and updates

Company recently said that Meizu Pro 6 will be the world's first smartphone that will have a 10-core processor.

"As expected it's a Super AMOLED with 1080p resolution, but the size took us by surprise as the PRO 6 was 5.7" and even the MX5 was 5.5". It features a 21-megapixel camera and a technology that appears to be almost identical to Apple's own 3D Touch, which Meizu calls "3D Press". But based on all the angles from this alleged Meizu PRO 6 in the wild, those first impression might actually be spot on. The Meizu Pro 6 is meant to take inspiration from around the market to create the best possible 5.2-inch smartphone money can buy.

One of the prototypes managed a score close to 91,165 on its benchmark tests, but MediaTek has promised that the phone should score closer to 100,000 by the time it hits the shops. Meizu offers a choice of black, silver, or gold alluminum alloy unibody, and the worldwide version of the phone will be a pentaband, 11-frequency variant to ensure maximum network compatibility.

There were additional rumors of a premium version of the Meizu Pro 6.

The smartphone is powered by a deca-core MediaTek Helio X25 processor, with the 4 Cortex-A53 clocked at 1.4GHz, 4 Cortex-A53 cores clocked at 2.0GHz, and 2 Cortex-A72 cores clocked at 2.5GHz.

The 32GB of the Meizu Pro 6 will be sold in China for ¥2,499, which is around $390.

A reversible USB Type C port for charging. Just like 3D Touch on the iPhone 6s, the display on the Meizu Pro 6 too comes with "3D Press" display. The display has a Gorilla Glass 3 protection.

But what really sets the new phone apart is its processor - a deca-core MediaTex Helio X25. There's also a fingerprint scanner housed under the home button up front, that the company claims can unlock the phone in just 0.2 seconds. You get a choice of 32GB or 64GB of internal storage and two SIM slots.

As of now, there's still no word from Meizu about the availability of Pro 6. Meizu has also placed a 10-LED ring flash on the back of the phone surrounding the laser used for autofocus, which is definitely a new twist.

The phablet will come with Android 6.0 Marshmallow straight out of the box, skinned under Meizu's Flyme 6.0 UI. The smartphone is backed by a 2560mAh battery that supports fast charging with mCharge 3.0 technology.
