Microsoft Surface Phone release date and rumors: Reported specs detailed

Microsoft has preferred to remain silent about the existence of the Surface Phone, which was rumored to replace the Lumia series. Tech experts say the efforts taken by the Redmond-based firm to promote their smartphones may turn around of it indeed launch the Surface Phone.

Reports claim that the Surface Phone would be the next flagship smartphone focused on the business market. The new smartphone will have an industrial design like the Surface Pro 4 and the Surface Book.

As for the release of the Microsoft Surface, it is believed that the company will announce it at the recent Mobile World Congress (MWC), unfortunately, the company did not do so. It was then forecasted that the flagship phone may be introduced at the company's developer conference, but still, no announcement was made.

The Microsoft Surface Phone is rumored to boast an AMOLED technology with a 5.5-inch, 1440x2560 display. It will run on the newest Intel Atom x3 processor, which was made available in mid-2015.

The smartphone will also have 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB or 128 GB of internal space. The camera is reported to boast a 21 MP PureView Zeiss rear camera and an 8 MP Zeiss Wide angle for selfie purposes.

The company will also release accessories with the mobile handset, including the Surface Pen. Some analysts claim that the accessory may be one of the reason why consumers would likely buy the device.
