Nokia to release at least five new Android smartphones in 2017, reveals a leaked product
Nokia is all set to make its comeback to smartphone market with Mobile World Congress in February. Nokia has already formalised its brand-licensing deal with HMD Global and now reports indicate that we can expect at least 5 smartphones in 2017.
Finland-based HMD Global is reportedly developing four more smartphones for launch in the second and third quarter of 2017. Nokia has been long rumoured to introduce two flagships and a mid-range smartphone at MWC next year. According to new report at Digitimes, HMD Global will showcase D1c as the first Nokia-branded smartphone at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.
Nokia D1C has already leaked multiple times in the past. The smartphone is rumoured to come in two variants and could be priced around Rs 10,000 in India. The two variants are expected to be different only in terms of their display size, onboard memory and camera resolution.
Nokia D1C is expected to come with 5-inch and 5.5-inch Full HD displays. The small screen variant is expected to feature 2GB RAM while the 5.5-inch variant is expected to come with 3GB RAM. The smartphones are also expected to feature a 13MP and 16MP primary camera. There will be 16GB or 32GB storage depending upon the variant.
Nokia D1C is expected to be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 processor and graphics duty is likely to be taken care of by Adreno 505 GPU. Nokia's comeback smartphones are expected to come with screen sizes ranging from 5-inch to 5.7-inch with WQHD or Full HD resolution display panels. HMD Global has already partnered FIH Mobile (a subsidiary of Nokia) for mobile manufacturing.
Digitimes report also adds that Nokia's smartphones will come with display panels from LG Display, Century Technology and Innolux. It is unclear whether Nokia has shelved its plan to launch a flagship device at MWC 2017.
