Samsung Galaxy S8 could be the first smartphone to come with Bluetooth 5.0 support

The Samsung Galaxy S8 smartphone is turning out to be one of the best smartphones ever. As of now, all the rumors points towards a very interesting device with very high-end specs along with a revolutionary design. Yesterday we saw that the company maybe borrowing some display tech from the Note 7 phablet which was launched a couple of months back and pulled back a few days later as well. While that is a good thing for them to do, we hope that the Galaxy S8s also won't start exploding out in the wild. With all that said, the new reports claims that this upcoming beast of a smartphone could be the first ever smartphone to support Bluetooth 5.0 as well.

Last week, the final specifications for the next generation Bluetooth 5 standard was released by the Bluetooth Special Interest Group (SIG). When you compare the current Bluetooth 4.2 with the Bluetooth 5.0, you will find out that the wireless range in ideal conditions would increase upto four times. And also the wireless transmission speeds will double up compared to the current standard. And yes, it is a new standard, expect it to be more secure, stable and power efficient as well. While this might not be all that exciting for most people, but this could mean that all the wearable devices, connected home systems, etc. will be way better in the future.

At the time of the release of the new specifications, Bluetooth SIG also said that new products with the support for Bluetooth 5.0 are coming soon at the earliest of 2-3 months. And well, just like they said, it has been reported that the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S8 smartphone could be the first ever device to support this new technology. Yes, indeed this doesn't come as a surprise since we all know that this new Bluetooth 5.0 will be pretty much supported by all the flagships in 2017. And of course, the Samsung Galaxy S8 smartphone being the most ambitious device for the company, at least from what it looks like, we can surely expect this to happen.

If the news of the support for Bluetooth 5.0 is not having you excited by now for this upcoming flagship from the company, then be informed that this is expected to come in two variants and both of them will have curved-edge display on the front and there is possibility of at least of them to have a bezel-less design just like the Mi MIX smartphone by Xiaomi. It also looks like it will sport the latest and the greatest Snapdragon 835 chipset and will come with 6GB+ RAM. With that said, let's just try not to keep our hopes high and just wait till February 26th until they make it official in Barcelona. If you are interested in this device, then be sure to stay tuned to PhoneRadar for details on the same.
