Germany: Android Nougat Update Delayed For Some Motorola Phones

Android 7.0 Nougat is already available for some phones and many more now come with this version. But there are bad news for those waiting for the update to arrive to their Motorola phones in Germany. The company, which released a list of phones that would receive the update last year, recently revealed on its official Twitter account in Germany that the Android 7.0 update for the Moto Z Play was being delayed until next month. But that wasn't the only delay, the release of the update for the Moto G4 Play, Moto G4 and Moto G4 Plus was also pushed back for later this month.

Last year, Motorola announced the Moto Z and Moto G4 phones would be the first to receive the update. The release of the update would then continue with the other phones such as the Moto X Pure, Moto X Force and Moto X Style. A total of 15 Motorola phones were mentioned in the list, including the Motorola Nexus 6.

Motorola Germany has also tweeted that the update is also being delayed for the four Moto X phones released in 2015. The delay will be for at least three months as Motorola Germany has said the Android 7 update for the Moto X series is expected to be delayed until May.

Lenovo-owned Motorola will be making an appearance at this month's MWC. It is rumored that the company will announce the Moto G5 and Moto G5 Plus at the tech show. A recent report mentioned that the phones will be released in the middle of March. Motorola has not released a new version of the popular Moto X series in almost two years and while nothing has been confirmed by the company, fans of the smartphone are hoping it also makes an appearance some time this year.
