Red to release 'Hydrogen' smartphone that's the 1st 'holographic media machine'

The company detailed about the smartphone in a blog post and reveals that Hydrogen one boasts of the Red Hydrogen's display, camera capabilities, and sound system. Dubbed as Hydrogen One, and the smartphone features a holographic display is the key highlight of this smartphone.

First, the basic specifications of the Hydrogen One: The display of the phone will be 5.7 inches is size and Red claims in its statement that it has used some nanotechnology to make the switch between the normal 2D content and 3D content and it can further change to holographic display and even run interactive games without any serious effort by the user.

Forbes reports that the phone will not come cheap, as there are two variants on offer - an aluminium option that will cost $1,195 and a titanium option that will cost $1,595. Buyers might not fully be aware of what they are buying considering that this is Red's first phone, but for those who really want to be at the bleeding edge of MR content, then this will probably be the phone to get. Red founder Jim Jannard later took to his company's forums to discuss the Android handset, stating that there was no good way to describe the holographic screen. It is not lenticular, which is inferior tech in every way, has been tried many times before and failed for good reason.

The company says the phone will be ready for shipping in early 2018; it is now available for preorder on the company website. From the only available photo of the Hydrogen One, it looks as though it'll have a headphone jack. The phone can also interact with their cameras to be used as a controller or a monitor.
