The first of five smartphone projects from Nintendo is focused on communication. By Jose Otero

Nintendo has finally launched it's first smartphone app, called Miitomo, in Japan. While a global release date hasn't been announced just yet, but it is coming to the US in March. While you wait, here's a quick look at 64 images from the app itself.

Miitomo is focused on communication between friends. In it, you answer questions and earn coins to buy outfits from a built-in shop. You can earn in-game currency or spend real money on Miitomo coins to buy outfits from the store. You can also make funny pictures using Miifoto, a portion of the app dedicated to putting you mii in real world photos.

We'll have more Miitomo coverage on the site later today, but check out the screens for now.

Today is Samsung Galaxy S7 release day

In contrast, one of his friends tries pouring Champagne on his non-Galaxy S7 smartphone (which suspiciously looks like an iPhone from a distance) and as you might expect, the outcome of the other phone is not so good.

Last week, Samsung had announced the launch of the Galaxy Entertainer application in conjunction with the launch of the flagship Galaxy S7 and S7 edge smartphones. The rumored Samsung smartphone, under a project name called "HERO", is reported to be mass-produced also starting in February, the same time as it is supposed release date. The AT&T Galaxy S7 Edge will cost you $26.50 a month for 30 months; FRP: $795. For many of you, this is not shocking news. Buyers will have to make zero down payment while purchasing the 32GB Galaxy S7.

First revealed at Mobile World Congress (MWC) last month, the 5.1 inch Galaxy S7 and 5.5 inch S7 Edge both feature day long battery life, enhanced camera and more powerful hardware than their predecessors.

Samsung h as brought back the water and dust resistance features, this time with a rating of IP68.

As expected, the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge launched in India come with Samsung's octa-core Exynos 8890 SoC instead of the quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chipset seen in the global variant. The latest move sees the new-fangled Galaxy S7 also being added into the mix.

Both devices feature 4GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage with microSD expansion up to 200GB, a 12-megapixel camera with f/1.7 aperture, a 5-megapixel front camera and a fingerprint scanner. This is a feature that can save you lots of trouble and money as it helps protect the phone from the most common damages.

Pre-Release Reviews Streaming in for Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge

The devices are packed with high-end specs and also have a stylish design. In terms of software, the major difference between S7 and S7 edge is in the new improved App Edge display on the right side.

Noel Leeming says with a dedicated game control centre, gameplay recording and the S7 and S7 edge's powerful processors, "mobile gaming just got highly realistic".

As for the One M9, it has a full metal body and so it is studier and prettier and comes in dual colors.

Soon after Samsung announced the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge in late February, the company's officials stated that they expect these smartphones to sell much better than the previous flagships. Even if the device only has a 12-megapixel sensor, Samsung made the pixels larger to allow the camera to capture more light. With these two features, Samsung is trying to make its Galaxy S7 different from its earlier product Galaxy S6.

The camera on the Galaxy S7 also provides a better focus. The S7 series is the cheapest of Samsung's flagship phones so far, as the electronics giant tries to boost sales in a saturated market.

Xiaomi to build 2 plants in India, release more devices

Xiaomi is going to increase its spending in India as the Chinese smartphone maker has huge plans in the country. Co-founder and president of Xiaomi, Lin Bin said that he will be devoting a lot more time to India.

Lin also believed that the smartphone market in China would be flat, if not on the decline. It has also partnered with Foxconn, world's largest contract manufacturer, which now makes 75% of the company's phones at its plant in Andhra Pradesh. Xiaomi designs, develops, and sells smartphones, mobile apps, and related consumer electronics. Last year, the Chinese brand launched Mi 4i, a phone specially made for India.

Xiaomi has reportedly sought permission to set up single-brand retail stores in India - but that only seems to be a part of its plans for the country. Xiaomi recently released their phone Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 starting at ₹9999.

With the application for license being the only update, Xiaomi is now hunting for sites and is in discussions with some of the states to get at least one facility running by the end of the year.

Lin also said Xiaomi was steaming local operations in terms of R&D for India-specific products and after sales services. Xiaomi has already begun working on getting a few of those local suppliers to India.

Xiaomi has however started 2016 with a bang having launched the impressive Redmi Note 3 earlier this month.

Besides investing in Indian start-ups, the company, last valued at $45 billion, is also actively talking to content owners and makers to curate content for Indian buyers which will find its way onto Mi devices sometime this year, Lin said.

Now, the company is planning to open two more factories here. "In India, there are 170 brands and its going up...it will drop to 30 here too because it's not sustainable", he said.

Speaking about competition, Lin said he was confident of taking up the rivals.

Release Date for New iPad and iPhone 7 Fresh Rumours

Apple on Friday alerted watchers to set the date, March 21, as it prepares to spring forward with new products and accessories.

In this year Apple is going to launch iPhone SE with a new iPad.In coming September Apple is also going to unveil iPhone 7. The line could refer to Apple Watch straps, or simply to Apple's location at 1 Infinite Loop.

To be added that at Apple's last event, held six months ago, the company has announced the iPad Pro, the iPhone 6S and an expansion of Apple Watch designs.

Leaked images of the iPhone 7 case have surfaced, revealing that the iPhone 7 won't look too different from the iPhone 6S and iPhone 6 smartphones.

Federal authorities want Apple's help in over-riding security features on an iPhone used by one of the San Bernardino mass shooters, so the FBI can attempt to examine the phone.

But the iPhone maker might need to adjust their schedule either on the 6th o r the 13th due to some earthquake-caused delays in production to Taiwan-based Apple supplier of smartphone processors. Besides the Apple MacBook Pro, we are also expecting to see new Apple products like the smaller Apple iPhone 5se, Apple Watch 2 and more.

Samsung reveals most popular phone - Galaxy S7 or S7 Edge?

"The pre-order performance of the new Galaxy S& and S7 Edge illustrates strong customer appetite for our premium smartphones in the United Kingdom", says Conor Pierce, VP of Samsung's Mobile division in the UK.

Samsung recently unveiled the Galaxy S7 in an Unpacked event in Barcelona, a day before this year's MWC.

SAMSUNG HAS ANNOUNCED "record" pre-orders for the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge, boasting that sales so far have been 2.5 times higher than those seen for its previous smartphone releases.

As for Samsung Pay, the service has already become fairly popular in quite a few markets around the world, including Samsung's home country of South Korea.

Shoppers can mix and match with the Galaxy S7 Edge.

At $599, you can own the unlocked Galaxy S7 (SM-G930F), or you can bump up to Galaxy S7 Edge (SM-G935F) for $699.

The South Korean consumer electronics megalith has started the first step as it is handing out afree Samsung Gear VR headset to consumers who place a pre-order before March 18, 2016. There's a limitation though as the free phone is exclusive for the Galaxy S7 and it appears like the Galaxy S7 Edge is not covered in the promotion.

Though many retailers are offering the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge online, some including Sam's Club, Staples, Target and Walmart will only offer the devices in stores. Let us know in the comments. Both phones come with 4GB of RAM, a 12-megapixel "Dual Pixel" rear camera with an f/1.7 aperture and smart OIS feature, as well as a 5-megapixel front camera with f/1.7 aperture.

The Galaxy S7 and the Galaxy S6 both have a 5.1-inch Super AMOLED Display with 2560 x 1440 pixels Quad HD resolution.
