We received official confirmation that the Huawei P9 was coming this year towards the end of February. Now, only a day remains until the Berlin event will be held and tomorrow we'll get to see if the company will unveil the P9 or some other products.
It looks like we have a possible release date for the new Huawei P9 smartphone, the device is expected to launch on the 6th of April.
Huawei is going to introduce its all new flagship smart phone, Huawei P9. There will be 5.2-inch 1080p display.
Giz China also leaked what it claims are press images of the P9 showing four colour variants: pink, silver, gold and white.
Rumored specs of the Huawei P9 include an octa-core HiSilicon Kirin 950 processor and a Mali-T880 GPU, paired with 3 GB of RAM.
Some of these models are expected to be restricted to select markets. It is the fifth phone in Huawei's P-series. The premium version with high RAM may have a more upgraded battery capacity.
The live images shown in the VentureBeat report show the presence of a USB Type-C port for fast charging and fast data transfer. Storage capacities will also vary according to the model version ranging from 32GB to 128GB. Media outlets speculated that the P9 may make an appearance at the event, alongside the wide range of variants and models that the device is expected to bring with it. Reports have indicated that the Huawei P9 lineup this year will have a wide range of devices including the P9 itself, along with the P9 Lite mid-ranger, the P9 Max phablet and the P9 Enhanced edition.
The duo will feature 12 megapixel camera sensors complete with Leica-made lenses. However, it is not known for which model the leaked pictures are for, so the base models may not feature dual-cameras.
In terms of pricing, the Huawei P8 entered the market at around $530. Last but not least, the Huawei P9 Max will reportedly boast the same processor as the P9 Enhanced namely the Kirin 955.
