Meizu Pro 6 rumor roundup ahead of phone's release today

The camera has a 21-megapixel Sony IMX230 sensor, though Meizu has customized the construction of the whole module and lens assembly in order to make it thinner. Meizu goes the extra mile with its USB-C data cable, integrating short-circuit and high-temperature protection to ensure that its rapid-charging technology poses no undue threat to the smartphone's electronics.

When it comes to the screen, the PRO 6 will rock a 5.2-inch Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen display that supports full HD (1080p) resolution.

While Meizu is yet to tease its fans the specs of the upcoming Pro 6, a recent benchmark result listing about the device hinted what can be expected when it gets released. The major attraction it carries, however, is the pressure sensitive display, something which companies have started to mimic from Apple phones. There's also a fingerprint scanner housed under the home button up front, that the company claims can unlock the phone in just 0.2 seconds.

The phone comes in options of 32GB or 64GB of internal storage, and Meizu points to the camera as a highlight of this smartphone.

The battery is the only real weak link: Meizu's opted for a 2,560mAh cell, while other Chinese phone makers are switching to 3000mAh batteries. Also incorporated is a Cirrus Logic CS43L36 chip, which will apparently offer exceptional audio quality. Speaking of connectivity features, you might also be interested in hearing that the Meizu Pro 6 features Buletooth 4.1 as well as 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac Wi-Fi (2.4GHz and 5GHz). That said the PRO 5 is actually more expensive than the PRO 6.

The confirmed Meizu Pro 6 price for China for the 32GB model is CNY 2,500 and that equates to around $385, £270, €340, or Rs.25,700. The phone measures 147.7 x 70.8 x 7.25mm, while it weighs 160 grams. The Meizu Pro 6 sports a metal unibody design and will be available in three colors - gold, dark grey and silver.
