Microsoft Surface Phone is likely to release in early 2017. Some recent reports claim that Microsoft will not release the Surface phone until it best processor for this handset.
Flagships of other companies come loaded with Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 but Microsoft wants the Surface Phone to stand out and this is the reason why the company wants a more powerful unit.
Rumors are strong that the Surface Phone is going to be the first smartphone to come loaded with the Snapdragon 823/830, which is believed to be the next-gen Qualcomm chipset offering.
Meanwhile, some reports waiting for the chipset is not the only reason behind the delayed release of the Surface Phone. Microsoft had said in March that smartphone development in the company is on hold.
"We're fully committed to that 4-inch screen, there will be a time for it to be our focus, but right now it's part of the family but it's not the core of where I hope to generate developer interest over the next year," Windows and Devices Executive Vice President Terry Myerson told The Verge.
"There's no lack of recognition to realize how important that form factor is, but for Microsoft with Windows and for our platform it's the wrong place for us to lead," he continued.
