HTC Nexus Marlin Spotted on Geekbench

HTC is said to unveil two Google Nexus smartphones this year, one of them is Nexus Marlin. Just yesterday, we reported that specs for the Nexus Marlin had leaked and it seems that today, the device was spotted on Geekbench.

HTC Nexus Marlin was spotted on Geekbench, according to leakster Roland Quandt. The post reveals some specs of the upcoming smartphone, mainly that it will be powered by a quad-core 1.6GHz processor and 4GB of RAM. The new Nexus will also come with Android Nougat 7.0 out of the box, as Google is expected to release the new Android version and the Nexus smartphones about at the same time.

Previous leaks suggested that the device will come with a 5.5-inch QHD (2560 x 1440) AMOLED display and feature a USB-C port. Nexus Marlin is also expected to have a 12MP rear camera and 8MP in the front shooter. The smartphone is said to come with a fingerprint scanner on the back and internal storage could vary between 32GB or 128GB. HTC might not launch a 64GB version, but that remains to be seem. Nexus Marlin could come with a 3,450mAh battery and Bluetooth 4.2.

Nexus Marlin and Sailfish will be released together

The second Nexus smartphone that HTC could unveil this year is codenamed Sailfish. Specs leaked recently and revealed that it will have a smaller screen compared to the Marlin, just 5 inches and 1080p resolution, with a pixel density of 440ppi. Battery capacity won't be as high as on the Marlin, the device could come with a battery of only 2770mAh.

Last year, Google unveiled the Nexus 5x and Nexus 6P in September and the devices went on sale a month later. This would indicate that the company might keep last year's scheduling and unveil the Nexus phones in the same month of this year, but that's just speculation at this point.
