Xiaomi Mi6 Release Date, Specs, Features: Smartphone Expected to Compete With Samsung Galaxy S8 in 2017

Xiaomi Mi6 is one of the most anticipated tech releases that are going to be available in early 2017, and reports are circulating that the device will carry impressive specs and features making it a worthy challenger for the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S8. There are speculations that Xiaomi's upcoming handset has all the tools to come out on top once it becomes available in the tight smartphone market.

New report has surfaced suggesting that the Xiaomi Mi6 smartphone will run on a Snapdragon 835 from Qualcomm paired with a sizable amount of RAM. The report also says that most of its competition will be powered by the same mobile CPU including LG G6, HTC 11, LG G6 and Samsung Galaxy S8.The powerful processor of Xiaomi Mi6 will

allow the device to have a fast charging ability, which is 20 percent faster than the normal charging time. However, many fans are concern about the safety feature of the smartphone. Apparently, consumers are pretty wary about safety features nowadays following the whole Samsung Galaxy Note 7 fiasco, which resulted to multiple exploding incidents.

Meanwhile, despite the lack of information regarding the release date of Xiaomi Mi6, several publications have already revealed its possible release date. According to the report, the new Xiaomi smartphone is expected to arrive between January and February 2017. The publication added that the device will be launched in US, UK and Canada at the same time, which is a month earlier than the rumored Samsung Galaxy S8 release in March.

The new Xiaomi Mi6 is also expected to have full 4K video support as its processor is made to have that ability. Apart from its amazing display feature, the device will also be perfect for VR technology. As of the moment, all rumors and speculations about Xiaomi Mi6 must be taken with a grain of salt until the company decides to confirm them. Stay tuned for more news and update about Xiaomi's upcoming high-end smartphone. Source: gamenguide

Microsoft Surface Smartphones May Feature the Snapdragon 835, 5.5in screen, Windows 10 Mobile Redstone 3

Microsoft is testing their Microsoft phone prototypes. Both will be running on Windows 10 Mobile Redstone 3 operating system. They would also both have 5.5-inch QHD screens. Microsoft is expected to make an announcement about the phones in late 2017.

Having disappointments about the previous release of the Microsoft Lumia phone, Microsoft will have improvements in their phones. Nokia products will be expunged or will be completely removed from Microsoft, Trusted Reviews reported. Thus, the release of a brand new lineup would make thing exciting.

The code name for these handsets is Panos Panay phones. They will be replacing the Lumia lineup. These two Microsoft phones will run on Snapdragon 835 processor. This means, it will have a 30 percent increase in area efficiency, a 27 percent increase in performance and it would consume 40 percent less power.

One of the Microsoft Surface phones will have a 6 GB of RAM and can also run x86 apps in Continuum. Continuum support is improved. The other phone will be running on a 4 GB RAM but it will use the same Snapdragon 835 processor.

The Windows 10 operating system running on both phones is 64-bit. Both the smartphones do not run on x86 app themselves. However, they could be installed. This reiterates and implies that the Microsoft Surface phones will be having Surface laptop accessories in the unit. This is what takes the Microsoft products one notch higher.

Their 3-in-1 factor would be the major highlight in the Microsoft Surface phones. With these Surface smartphones, they could attach the keyboard. It would have a keyboard flip case. They would also have a stylus pen.

The Surface phone will support the Quick Charge 4.0 according to the Nokia Power User. Like the Surface hybrid laptop, these Panos Panay phone will have an all-metal body. There are also indications that they would release phones that will carry the WinBeta. The Surface Phone will cost approximately $699 to $1,100.

Meanwhile, Microsoft will end the sales of their Lumia lineup at the end of 2016. The Lumia lineup has reduced to just four handsets, Lumia 550, 650, 950, and 950 XL. It is apparent that Lumia will be soon out of the way. Source: asiastarz

Microsoft Prepares Surface Studio Release For Next Week

The latest reports from Microsoft's CEO says its development team is now carrying out a research on innovative technology, so that the company could ensure that its next entry into the smartphone market would be felt by its competitors and the consumers in general. That device is believed to be the Surface Phone, which has been rumored for a long time.

The only hints we received were from Microsoft's Satya Nadella which teased the device in an interview with the Australian Financial. It would be interesting to see if they unify Mobile, PC, and tablet under advanced windows platform with multiple smart devices.

Though he did not mention the Surface Phone or any specific gadget they are coming up with, the Microsoft CEO stated that he is confident of the company's goal to bring in an innovative cloud computing would be successful.

The 2017 Microsoft Surface Phone is considered as Microsoft's comeback in the smartphone market. The new Microsoft does not want to look at the overwhelming dominance of Android worldwide with jealousy, but creating from scratch?

According to an article posted on MacRumors, rumors include the Surface Phone's compatibility with a Surface Book or a Surface Studio. One standout capability could be x86 app emulation on Windows 10 devices, allowing traditional Windows desktop programs to be run on smartphone processors. The addition of a phone completes the company's product line.

In the highly competitive electronic gadget market, imitation may indeed be the highest form of flattery as numerous brands do usually copy other more successful manufacturers in the hopes of becoming a cheaper or more powerful alternative to the said brand.

While Nadella has talked about the Surface Phone recently, teasing that the device is both unique and a game-changer in the making, he stopped short of revealing the juicy details such as basic specifications and possible release timing.

So apparently Microsoft isn't denaturing the mobile business. Currently Microsoft is offering all pre-order purchases of the Surface Studio with a free Surface Dial – a $99 dollar value accessory that made many waves during Microsoft's popular Surface Studio commercial. Source: aboutcruiseships

Samsung Galaxy A5, A7 2017 Models Release Updates

Samsung Galaxy S and S6 Edge units on display.

Aside from the slew of reports about Samsung's flagship series, the Galaxy S, the tech world is also filled with release rumors and speculations regarding the company's upper mid-range devices, the Galaxy A series. For instance, fresh release news updates are emerging about the Samsung Galaxy A5 and A7 2017 models.

It seems that the next-gen model of the Galaxy A7 will not have a European release. This is based on a listing on Samsung Austria's website showing the mobile devices with compatibility support for the Gear S3, where the Galaxy A7 2017 model is not included.

    It Seems Europe Won't Get The Samsung Galaxy A7 (2017) https://t.co/XCYqhC7jDd #android #google #smartphones pic.twitter.com/KXkCS8umXD

    — Android Headlines (@Androidheadline) November 23, 2016

GSM Arena noted though that it will not really be a big shock if Samsung Galaxy A7 2017 is indeed not getting a European release as the 2016 model did not hit the region as well. There hasn't been any official release confirmation yet from Samsung about the new Galaxy A7 and the entire Galaxy A models for next year. But according to the latest specs rumors, tech fans may find an Exynos 7870 chipset under the hood of the Samsung Galaxy A7 (2017) upon its release, paired with 3GB RAM and native storage options of 32GB and 64GB. As for the display, it could sport a 5.5″ or 5.7″ display with 1080p resolution. The Samsung Galaxy A7 could also have a 16MP camera lens sensor.

While the Samsung Galaxy A7 2017 model is a no-show in the aforementioned listing, two Galaxy A devices for release next year are included in it, the Galaxy A3 and the Galaxy A5. The latest news about the Samsung Galaxy A5 revealed that it will come in four color variants. It will be available in black, gold, pink and a new option, blue, according to a tweet from a famous tipster.

Samsung Galaxy A5 (2017) SM-A520 will launch in the amazing color choice of Black, Gold, Pink and Blue. Wow.

    — Roland Quandt (@rquandt) November 22, 2016

The 2016 model of the Galaxy A5 hit the market with four color options as well, but instead of a blue variant, a white version was released.

For the specs, the Samsung Galaxy A5 2017 model will reportedly sport a 5.2-inch display, 3 GB RAM, 16GB internal storage and 3000 mAh battery. Moreover, specs and release report from a separate GSM Arena post shared that it will get the Exynos 7880 processor with 3GB RAM.

Meanwhile, the low-end model of the A series, the Galaxy A3 2017 model was previously spotted in Zauba, India's import and export tracking website. And last month, the smartphone got certified by the Bluetooth Special Interest Group (SIG).

As for its most recent sighting, earlier this November, Samsung Galaxy A3 2017 received its Wi-Fi certification, where the documentation showed SM-A320F as its model number. According to Phone Arena, this model number is consistent with the ones seen on two other benchmarking sites, Geekbench and GFXBench.

The upcoming Galaxy A3 is a 4.7-inch smartphone with 720 x 1280 screen resolution. Hardware specs include an Exynos 7870 with octa-core 1.5 GHz CPU and Mali T830 GPU. Furthermore, it will be equipped with 2GB RAM and 8GB internal memory. Phone Arena, further enumerating other specs to see from the Galaxy A3, noted the following.

"The camera combo from back to front weighs in at 12MP/8MP, and Android 6.0.1 is running the show."

According to website MobileKaPrice containing the product listing for the handset, the Indian release date for the next-gen Samsung Galaxy A3 is pegged for February 12, 2017.

The Galaxy A series was initially introduced in 2015 as "Samsung's attempt to take the fight to the OEMs that have been encroaching on its market share, Sam Mobile explained, also describing that the A devices are "very well built" and they showcase a "unique look of its own."

Microsoft Surface Phone release date: Smartphone to launch in February 2017?

The Microsoft Surface Phone has been plagued with rumors for a long time. And although Microsoft has yet to confirm the device's existence, reports claim that the handset will be unveiled at the upcoming Mobile World Congress (MWC) in February.

Microsoft has not been in the smartphone game for quite some time now, especially considering its Lumia series did not fare very well in the market. The company has yet to make any sort of announcement regarding the Surface Phone, but that has not stopped speculations from running rampant.

According to reports, Microsoft is apparently set to launch the Surface Phone, along with the Surface Pro 5, at the upcoming MWC 2017 in Barcelona, Spain. The event is set to take place in February, which means, if the rumors are true, tech enthusiasts only have a few more months of waiting before they can lay their eyes on the Redmond-based tech giant's new smartphone iteration.

It is believed that Microsoft is working with HP to produce the Surface Phone. And while it is set to sport a major overhaul from the past Lumia lineup, it has been said that the smartphone will still keep key features for the Surface Phone. These features include Glance and ClearBlack screens.

Under the hood, it is expected that the Surface Phone will be running on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 830 processor, as well as a Windows 10 operating system. And as previously stated, an apparent leak points to new fingerprint sensor technology that may or may not be incorporated in the Surface Phone.

It has also been said that the device may come in three variants, albeit all of them are high-end phones. However, since nothing has been confirmed so far, it would be best for readers to take this news with a grain of salt for now. More news and updates should arrive soon. Source: ecumenicalnews

Microsoft Surface Phone Release Date: 2017 Launch At MWC Confirmed? Features Similar To Lumia Phones?

Microsoft's smartphone family, the Lumia lineup, is not doing quite well these days, but that doesn't mean that the Redmond-based tech giant isn't cooking up something. Rumor has it that the Microsoft Surface Phone 2016 is really happening and it could be out sometime in 2017. It is also believed to be the saving grace of the company.

Microsoft has already done a great job with the successful Surface laptops. If rumors are anything to go by, the company might already be equipped to join the competitive smartphone market. Latest rumors claimed that there is evidence proving that Microsoft is collaborating with HP to create the new Microsoft Surface Phone 2016 that runs on a Windows 10 OS.

Reports also mentioned that the Microsoft Surface Phone 2016 may share similar features as Windows-powered Lumia handsets. That said, the new smartphone could have the remarkable features of the Lumia lineup, which include Glance, and the ClearBlack display. WCCFTech also reported about the possibility of a Snapdragon 830 chipset on board the new Microsoft Surface Phone.

Given that Microsoft Surface Phone 2016 could be running on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 830 processor, it is expected to be power-efficient. In addition, the device is expected to have beefed up specs that should challenge today's big names in the smartphone industry. Apart from impressive specs, the Surface Phone is also expected to have more improved security and productivity features.

As for the release date, Microsoft Surface Phone 2016 is rumored to launch sometime in 2017. Several reports are betting on the Mobile World Congress 2017 as the venue for the smartphone launch. In that case, the device could be unveiled sometime in February next year. Furthermore, it is also rumored that the new Surface smartphone will share the spotlight with another one of Microsoft's hotly anticipated device, the Surface Pro 5.

While news of Microsoft Surface Phone 2016 release date, specs, and features may get Windows fans excited, it should be noted that they haven't been confirmed. The company has yet to make official announcement about the device. For now, it's best to take the reports with a grain of salt. Source: gamenguide

Will give 50 lakh smartphones to youths if elected to power: Punjab Congress

CHANDIGARH: In a bid to lure young blood, Punjab Congress chief Captain Amarinder Singh today said the party will give 50 lakh smartphones with one year of free data and calling to the youth in the state, to empower them and connect them digitally, once it comes to power.

Singh made this announcement while launching the scheme -- 'Captain Smart Connect' -- in presence of thousands of youths from across the state here.

He promised the youth that those who registered themselves for the smartphones would get them within 100 days of the formation of the Congress government in the state.

The scheme promises an overall distribution of 50 lakh smartphones over a period of five years.

Within minutes of the launch of the scheme, for which Singh had invited the youth via Twitter, several thousand registered on captainsmartconnect.com - a website set up exclusively for the purpose.

The last date for registering on the website - the only platform for registration under the scheme - is November 30, 2016.

Amarinder's Facebook profile, which went live with the event, recorded 1,200 likes and 8,200 views in the first one hour of the launch, a party release said.

The Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee (PPCC) president said the scheme will cost about Rs 300-400 crore a year after the initial investment in the first year.

Allocation will be made in the state Budget itself to fund the scheme, as part of the youth welfare programme of his government, once he takes over the reigns of the state, he added.

Explaining the rationale behind the scheme, Amarinder said even though one-third of Punjab's population comprised of youth in the 18-35 age group, this section remained backward.

Large-scale unemployment is pushing the youth to drugs and other problems, making it important for the government to connect with them, he said.

Samsung Galaxy X Release Date – Fully Flexible AMOLED Display

As the year 2016 is coming to an end everyone is anticipating what big tech companies such as Samsung and Apple are going to bring on the market. The ongoing trend in technology right now is the development of VR headsets, games and hardware.

Apple will reportedly completely change the design their iPhone has next year by implementing an all AMOLED glass build and Samsung will unveil their new Samsung Galaxy X, which will be the first smartphone to have a fully flexible AMOLED display.

    Samsung Galaxy X

The rumors surrounding Samsung's Galaxy X are pointing out that Samsung will introduce a folding flexible Super AMOLED display. This means that Samsung has taken inspiration from the design used on 90's flip-phones.

The device will be equipped with a special hinge mechanism that's going to allow users to fold the gadget without ruining the picture quality.

Regarding the specs the device might sport a 4K display panel could be in plans since Samsung already proved with some of their prototypes that they can install a folding Super AMOLED panel that runs at Full HD 1080p.

There already are a few smartphones that run 4K display panels and the problem with them is that the battery drains very fast. Samsung will more than likely use the same QHD 2560 x 1440 pixel resolution that their flagship Galaxy S7 does.

In the hardware department Samsung will have to wait until March so that Qualcomm launches their next gen Exynos 8995 processor and they will equip the device with at least 4GB of RAM. Taking in consideration the fact that the Galaxy Note 7 has 6GB of RAM, the Galaxy X might sport the same amount of ram as well.

Because Samsung is installing such a power draining display, the battery they will use is a complete mystery right now. If Samsung chooses to add a bigger battery than the standard 3,000 mAh, the weight and thickness of the device will increase. Source: Neurogadget

Google Touts Encryption Support On New Pixel Android Phones

The default encryption on the new devices ensures strong data protection, company says.

Google's recently released Android Nougat-powered Pixel smartphones offer a whole new level of data protection because of their built in encryption capabilities, the company said this week.In a blog post Google senior software engineers Paul Crowley and Paul Lawrence said the new data security capabilities made Pixel and Pixel XL better, faster and stronger than the company's previous smartphone models. As one example, the two engineers pointed to the new file based encryption (FBE) support available on Pixel phones. Unlike full-disk encryption, FBE enables different files to be encrypted with different keys so each file can be opened independently of the others. File level encryption also enables data to be separated into a device-encrypted group and a credential-encrypted group, Crowley and Lawrence said.In addition, FBE enables a so-called Direct Boot capability in Android 7.0 Nougat that allows an encrypted phone to boot directly to the lock-screen, according to a Google descripti on of the technology.  "For users, this means that applications like alarm clocks, accessibility settings, and phone calls are available immediately after boot," the two engineers said. In contrast, with full disk encryption the user would need to first authenticate to the device before any data and anything but the most basic functions can be accessed. Also new with Android 7.0 and Pixel is a feature called TrustZone for encrypting and storing all disk encryption keys. TrustZone enforces two key security functions on Pixel phones. One of them is a feature that prevents disk encryption keys from being decrypted if there is any sign of the operating system being compromised or modified. The other is a feature designed to discourage brute force password guessing attacks by lengthening waiting periods between wrong password guesses. The manner in which TrustZone enforces the waiting period ensures that it will take more than four years for an attacker to try all possible combinations, the Google engineers said. This ensures better security especially for those with a short or easily guessed password, PIN or pattern.Google has also implemented the encryption on Pixel devices in such a manner as to take advantage of what Crowley and Lawrence described as an inline hardware encryption engine. The feature gives Pixel phones the ability to wr ite encrypted data at line speed, they said.Google's move to release details on the encryption support in Pixel comes just days after a white hat hacking team at Chinese security firm Qihoo 360 demonstrated a proof of concept exploit in which they were able to break into a Pixel phone in less than 60 seconds. For the demonstration, the hackers exploited a zero-day flaw to gain access to a Pixel device and execute code on it remotely. The hackers demonstrated the exploit at a hacking event at the POC2016 security conference organized by Power of Community a Korean group. The Qihoo 360 team provided details of the exploit to Google, which rewarded them with a $120,000 bounty for finding and reporting it.

#Windows10 #Dell – Windows 10 Mobile Phone images x86 Leak Surface Online : Dell was believed to be working on x86 Windows Mobile 10 Phone to take on the different segments in the mobile market.

The alleged device is designed to serve as a a phone, tablet and a desktop. Dubbed as Dell Stack, the device was designed in 2014 and was slated to hit the shelves in 2017. It was believed that both Microsoft and Dell gave up on the project focusing on other devices.

But thanks to known tipster Evan Blass, we now have an idea of how the Dell Stack will look. The image reveals the device along with its dock and will also support Continuum and offer charging at the same time. Both companies are yet to announce the release of the phone.

If the leaks are to be believed, the Dell Stack will sport a 6.4-inch display and will ship in different hardware configurations and will be paired with 4GB or 8GB of RAM. There is a possibility that users can get up to 256GB of internal storage and support for MicroSD card is also possible.

Samsung Galaxy S8: Samsung's new smartphone could see this AMAZING design

Samsung galaxy s8 rumours release date price plusGETTY

Samsung is reportedly planning a major redesign for the Galaxy S8 smartphone

Samsung could be planning a major redesign for its next big smartphone.

The Galaxy S8, which is set for release early next year, will offer a number of upgrades and improvements - but could also come with a great new feature.

It's something previously seen in the troubled Galaxy Note 7 device, which was pulled from sale earlier this year following a number of incidents and fires.

Now a website from Samsung's home nation of South Korea have suggested that the Samsung Galaxy S8 will come sporting a curved-edge display.

Much like previous Samsung smartphones, this feature will allow for notifications to be displayed on the side of the device, giving more room on the main screen.

However it seems that unlike past release, both versions of the Samsung Galaxy S8 will come with a curved display, rather than just the premium edition.

Previously, Samsung has only put a curved display in the more premium edition of its flagship smartphone - as seen recently in the Galaxy S6 and S7 edge devices.

Samsung's Galaxy S8 should be released early next year

Reports out this week have also suggested that Samsung, in keeping with its previous launches, is planning two separate Galaxy S8 phones for next year.

So alongside a normal Samsung Galaxy S8, there will also be a bigger device, called the Samsung Galaxy S8 plus.

The rumours say that the standard Samsung Galaxy S8 will come with a 5.7 inch screen, making it slightly larger than the 5.5 inch Galaxy S7 edge released earlier this year.

This would also be a significant upgrade on the current flagship device, the 5.1 inch Galaxy S7.

However the Galaxy S8 plus may be the company's biggest device to date, reportedly sporting a 6.2 inch nearly edge-to-edge display.

The Samsung Galaxy S8 is also reportedly set to come with a super-smart AI voice assistant called Viv as Samsung takes on the likes of Apple and Google.

Launching such a service would also allow Samsung to reduce its dependence on Google's own Now assistant.

Samsung is also expected to follow Apple and ditch the industry-standard 3.5mm headphone port.

Microsoft Surface Phone 2016 release date before the year ends?

#SurfacePhone #Smartphone – Microsoft Surface Phone 2016 release date before the year ends? : For the past few months, rumors that Microsoft is working on a Surface phone has not died down. Recently, another news for the much-anticipated smartphone says it will be using a Windows 10 operating system.

Meanwhile, though consumers are expecting its release this 2016, there are no concrete details yet confirming this speculation. In more recent news, Pocketlint reported there were leaked images of what the public claim as the 2016 Microsoft Surface Phone.

Photos came from the Twitter account of reliable tipster Evan Blass where it featured the alleged phone running on Windows 10. However, several media outlets are suggesting it is not the much-awaited Surface phone but a Windows phone made by Dell.

Despite the uncertainty, Blass guaranteed that it is not simply a concept phone as others deem it to be. Aside from the alleged photos of its appearance, he also shared some lifestyle images of it.

According to Thurrott, it is unlikely that the Dell phone will be running with an Intel chip due to its thickness. Aside from this, the publication is expecting the phone would come out with a companion laptop.

Meanwhile, Microsoft recently acquired Surfacephone.com, one of the Surface domains available on the internet today. When one visits the said site, it redirects to the company's official Microsoft website.

Although the software giant has not been releasing any announcements regarding the Surface phone, a useful URL being prepared signals the company may be pushing through with its manufacturing. Aside from Surfacephone.com, Microsoft also acquired Surfacelaptop.com and Surfacecar.com.

For the Surface Phone's release date, some sources are claiming in case Microsoft pushes through with its launching, it will most likely be in 2017 or maybe even until 2018. As of the moment, readers are advised to take everything with a pinch of salt until Microsoft releases its official statement. Source: yibada

Microsoft Surface Phone release date, specs: review of most intriguing rumors so far

#SurfacePhone #Smartphone – Microsoft Surface Phone release date, specs: review of most intriguing rumors so far : There is a new smartphone that software giant Microsoft is building and based on initial rumors and impressions, it could very well change the current standing of the company in this industry.

For so many years, it has not really been successful in offering something that rightfully competed with the leaders. The perception is that no one will pick a Windows-powered smartphone over an Android-run Samsung Galaxy or an Apple iPhone. Well, this line of thinking could potentially change in a matter of months once the hyped phone is officially unveiled.

So far, the most intriguing prospect of the Microsoft Surface Phone is what's underneath it. According to numerous reports from tech and smartphone review sites, the device will be equipped with Intel's Kaby Lake processor, although there is no specific information as to the type of chip or speed to be used.

However, according to MobiPicker, the upcoming smartphone might actually be using a Snapdragon 830 processor instead, considering how uncertain Intel has been as of late with respect to the Kaby Lake's official release.

Next to the processor is the primary camera, which according to rumors will be a 20-megapixel Carl Zeiss lens coupled with a proximity sensor. If this turns out to be true, then it would definitely put the phone in competition with some of the best shooters in the market.

Furthermore, it is also widely speculated that the phone will be offered in three different variants, with the difference seen in the random access memory (RAM) and internal storage.

The low-end or base version will reportedly have 4 GB of RAM, while the premium model will come with 8 GB. The midrange version is said to be equipped with 6 GB of RAM. Internal storage, on the other hand, will be 32 GB, 128 GB, and 500 GB.

Finally, a report from Windows Central said that the Microsoft Surface Phone, in spite of all the hype surrounding it, won't likely be marketed as a direct competitor to upcoming flagship monsters like the Samsung Galaxy S8 or the Apple iPhone 8. Instead, it'll be the company's pitch to consumers in the hope of making its brand relevant in the smartphone segment once again. Source: vinereport

Microsoft Surface Phone 2017 release date, news and update: Three Surface Phone variants to take on iPhone 8, Samsung Galaxy S8

Microsoft Surface Phone is said to be under development. The new smartphone is expected to roll out in three variants with an 8GB model reportedly in the works. The device is also expected to feature the fingerprint scanner in 2017.

The upcoming Microsoft Surface Phone is rumored to come in three variants, Windows Central reported. Reports say that the handsets will be paced with 4GB RAM, possibly a 6GB RAM and the premium variant will get 8GB RAM. Also, the upcoming Windows handset is said to be powered by the Intel Kaby Lake processor.

The new Microsoft Surface Phone is also rumored to feature a fingerprint scanner in the display which is also said to feature in other upcoming phones in 2017 like the iPhone 8 and the Samsung Galaxy S8. Rumor has it that Microsoft Surface Phone will be launched in Spring 2017. However, Microsoft is yet to acknowledge the existence of the Surface Phone let alone its release date, specs and features.

Many are of the opinion that the Washington-based company is only waiting for the right time to announce the Microsoft Surface Phone. The company has reportedly recently acquired surfacephone.com as a domain name which has fueled rumors of the smartphone's imminent arrival.

Also, the company is expected to introduce three new smartphones in the Surface Phone line-up for 2017, according to reports.

There are some reports suggesting that Microsoft will release the Microsoft Surface Phone in January 2017.

The Microsoft Surface Phone coming in 2017 is said to sport an all-metal body, a 20MP Carl Zeiss rear camera coupled with a range of sensors. A fingerprint sensor is also rumored for the phone. The handset is also expected to come packed with a standard 512GB internal storage and the new-generation Intel Atom X3 processors.

Lenovo will now release all its smartphones under the Moto name

The long-rumored Moto M was released today on Motorola's Chinese site, with no indication of a North American release. Now Lenovo has announced that all future smartphones developed by the company will be branded as 'Moto' phones.

The announcement comes as part of a larger shift in leadership at Lenovo, with the company hoping to improve smartphone sales in mainland China. Gina Qiao, formally SVP of human resources, is now SVP of Lenovo's Mobile Business Group. She previously worked in marketing and strategy in the company.

As you can probably guess, this has the unfortunate effect of diluting the Motorola brand with phones designed and manufactured by Lenovo. Instead of the cohesive X, G, and E devices that made picking a phone from Motorola so easy, the Moto M is likely the first of many slightly-different lineups. Perhaps Motorola will be reduced to just a brand name sooner, rather than later.

Microsoft Surface Phone release date, specs rumors: will Windows-powered device achieve success this time around?

#SurfacePhone #Smartphone – Microsoft Surface Phone release date, specs rumors: will Windows-powered device achieve success this time around? : If there is one major difference with Microsoft's rumored Surface Phone when compared to the company's previous Windows mobile-powered smartphones, it's the fact the former is getting a lot more attention, and there is probably a very good reason why there's huge anticipation for it.

Although the American software and tech giant is keeping a rather low profile with it, everyone seems to be in agreement that something big is coming. According to iTech Post, the upcoming smartphone is most likely going to be launched in spring of next year, which makes a lot of sense considering that the company's operating system, Windows 10, is scheduled for a major update dubbed as "Redstone 2."

With all the rumors and speculations about the phone popping up, it certainly looks like everyone already has a clear set of expectations as to what the phone will offer to consumers.

The only question is will the rumored sophistication be enough to convince buyers to abandon Android and iOS-run smartphones in order to give the Windows-powered Surface Phone a try?

Unfortunately for Microsoft, there never was a favorable or positive feedback for the majority of its previous smartphone offerings, including the Lumia range it got from Nokia.

So if one is to really consider purchasing the upcoming Microsoft Surface Phone, there will always be a question of whether or not it will come with drastic changes and improvements; or probably, it'll be the same Windows phone everyone came to hate in the past.

With regard to the smartphone's specs, there are reports that Microsoft will be offering three different models, varying in terms of their respective random access memory (RAM). The first and most affordable will have a more than sufficient 4 GB of RAM while the two other variants should come in with 6 GB and 8 GB RAM options, respectively.

The rear camera is rumored to be equipped with a 21-megapixel lens and there is a theory that the device might actually be powered by the Intel Kaby Lake processor, although it's hard to fathom how this could affect the price. And considering that it will be marketed as Microsoft's next flagship phone, it will most likely have premium specs on top of a premium price. Source: vinereport

People! You Can Now Turn Your Smartphone Into A Magic Wand

If you think your smartphone is a magical device, you're totally right. The headmasters at Hogwarts, err, I meant Google, have figured out how to turn our phones into magic wands.

If for some bizarre reason you've been living under a rock, you should know that there's a new Harry Potter movie coming out. There are only a few short weeks until the release of Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, and our friends at Google teamed up with Warner Bros to help promote the film with magical Google-based integrations.

However, the features are only currently available to Android users. Sorry, iPhone fans, you guys continue to be muggles.

One can be a certified wizard by using "OK Google" voice commands. You can instruct your phone to turn on its flashlight by saying Lumos, and Nox to turn it right off. You can also say Silencio to silence the ringer and notifications.

In addition to that, Google is also adding tours of locations in Fantastic Beasts. While it may not be as awesome as the Marauders' Map, fans can virtually visit The Blind Pig speakeasy, Magical Congress of the USA, and apartments of the film characters via Google Maps.

Now if you're like Hermione and have the affinity for time travel, don't worry, Google is planning a Fantastic Beasts Daydream VR experience for Daydream View, their newest virtual reality device. It will be on sale late November, along with the release of the Fantastic Beats sticker pack for Google Allo.

The manufacturer boasts that the handset's processing power makes it, the "most powerful smartphone in the world." Huawei's tests indicate that the software in the Mate 9 performs 80 percent better than major competitors after a year of use.

Neil Mawston, executive director at Strategy Analytics stated that the Mate 9 is just "another big screen smartphone." He did admit on CNBC that the Mate 9 was a "nice incremental improvement" and did a good job of "filling the Note 7 gap, at a lower price point than Apple." Mobile industry analyst Ben wood at CCS Insight said on CNBC via telephone that it "shows just how ambitious Huawei are," and "reiterates CCS Insight's belief that Huawei is emerging as a force to be recognized in the smartphone market."

The Mate 9 boasts 8 megapixel camera, 4 microphones that work together to enable directional sound recording, and 64GB memory. The Mate has a headphone jack unlike the iPhone 7. Huawei did not report where the Mate 9's battery was manufactured but claimed that the smartphone has been tested in house by the manufacturer and in independent research labs.

Ben Wood stated Huawei's smartphone competitors are unlikely to be worried about the release but stated that the "Mate 9 boosts Huawei's profile." He also stated that its success "comes down to price."

With Samsung's recall of the note 7, Huawei's position Europe and India may be boosted. Huawei states that the Mate 9 is a "high end performance device aimed at professional users."

Xiaomi Mi Note 2 price, release date in India: How to order dual curved smartphone outside China?

Xiaomi launched its Mi Note 2 in China a few days ago, but the new dual curved smartphone is not going to be released in India, Xiaomi's VP Hugo Barra said shortly after the launch event. In China, the handset is selling like hotcakes, raising concerns over Xiaomi's decision not to launch the Mi Note 2 in the second-largest smartphone market in the world.

The resemblance between the Mi Note 2 and Samsung Galaxy Note 7 is uncanny. The Galaxy Note 7's fiasco gives Mi Note 2 an edge, but if you are disappointed that the handset cannot be bought outside China, fret not: GearBest, an online international reseller, has a working solution for you.

Head over to GearBest website and search for Xiaomi Mi Note 2. You will see all three variants of the Mi Note 2 being listed online as a part of the pre-sale, which started on October 29 and ends on December 15. The shipping, depending on the country, will take up to a month.

Xiaomi Mi Note 2's entry-level model with 4GB RAM and 64GB ROM is listed for $509.99, the 6GB RAM + 128GB ROM model costs $597.99 and the Mi Note 2 Global variant with 6GB RAM and 128GB ROM can be booked for $629.99. In comparison, the 4GB RAM+64GB storage, 6GB RAM + 128GB storage models are priced at ¥2799 (approx. $415/ Rs. 27,720) and ¥3299 (approx. $487/ Rs. 32,558), respectively, in China. The global variant was launched by Xiaomi for ¥3499 (approx. $516/ Rs. 34,537).

The difference between GearBest's pricing and Xiaomi's official price list is around Rs7,000, which is a reasonable fee to pay for a premium smartphone that may never see the light of the day in India. If we compare the pricing of the handset against its specs, Mi Note 2 doesn't look like a bad deal.

Xiaomi Mi Note 2 features a 5.7-inch 2K display with dual-edge curve, a highly-capable 22.56MP primary camera, an 8MP front snapper and 7-series aluminium body. It is powered by a 14nm Qualcomm Snapdragon quad-core chipset clocked at 2.4GHz, which is paired with 4GB/6GB RAM and a 4,070mAh battery with Quick Charge 3.0.

The Mi Note 2 supports all six types of 4G LTE networks and all the bands across the globe. It runs Android Marshmallow-based MIUI 8 and has a physical home button with a fingerprint scanner integrated within.

In addition to the Mi Note 2, GearBest is also selling the Mi MIX 'bezel-less' concept smartphone for buyers outside China. For now, this is the only possible route to get Mi Note 2 or Mi MIX shipped to India.
