Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge Named Best Smartphone At Mobile World Congress 2017

Maybe the first thing to get excited about is the potential for a Samsung Galaxy Note 5 Nougat release next month.

But the upgrades would not be enough for the company to close the gap with its main rivals, Samsung and Apple, said Thomas Husson, consumer devices analyst at Forrester Research. For connectivity, the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+ has 4G, NFC, WiFi (a/b/g/n/ac), Bluetooth 4.2 LE, micro USB 2.0 port, and Global Positioning System with GLONASS and Beidou.

The Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge has been named the best smartphone of 2016. However, that did not stop fans from speculating that a new Samsung Galaxy Note 8 might come out in 2017.

Samsung, the world's largest mobile phone maker, had no device of its own to show at the week-long Mobile World Congress, the phone industry's largest annual trade fair, in Barcelona in northeastern Spain, its usual showcase.

"We are honoured to be recognised for our craftsmanship in design and innovation with the Galaxy S7 Edge", said Junho Park, Samsung Electronics vice-president of global product strategy for its mobile communications business.

Telstra's just released the Android 7.0 ("Nougat") update for Telstra customers with the Samsung Galaxy S7 or Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge smartphones.

Stay tuned for more Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge updates.

Galaxy S8 fans won't have to decide between choosing the pricier "edge" model over a standard flat screen, like the Galaxy S7 and S7 edge.

.

Samsung revealed this week that it will launch the Galaxy S8 at a special event in NY on 29th March. The update brings software version G900VVRS2DQB2 and like the Note 5, this update should simply bump the Android security level to the latest month of February, but don't expect any major changes or introductions in form of new features.
